nce again, Saudi Arabia has come under a drone attack. Just a few days ago, reports had emerged that drone attacks took place in the country. Repeated attacks are being carried out on Saudi Arabia.
So far, Saudi Arabia has not named any country as being responsible for the drone attack.
Although reports suggest that Iran may be behind the drone attack, there has been no official confirmation or statement proving that Iran carried out this attack. Saudi authorities have not yet named any country responsible.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense said on X (formerly Twitter) that:
“The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that on Sunday morning (May 17, 2026), three drones were intercepted and destroyed after entering the airspace of the Kingdom, coming from Iraqi airspace.
Major General Al-Maliki also emphasized that the Ministry of Defense reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place and will take and implement all necessary operational measures to respond to any attempt to violate the sovereignty of the Kingdom and the security and safety of its citizens and residents.”

On Sunday morning, a drone attack took place at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The situation in the Middle East remains generally stable, although tensions have increased due to the ongoing US-Iran conflict. A ceasefire between the US and Iran has been in place since April, and relative peace continues in the region.
However, drone attacks are still being reported in some countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and other Gulf nations.
India has also condemned the attack and said:
“India is deeply concerned about the attack targeting the Barakah nuclear facility in the UAE. Such actions are unacceptable and represent a dangerous escalation. We urgently call for restraint and a return to dialogue and diplomacy.”

Pakistan has condemned the attack on the Barakah nuclear facility in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Pakistan said that attacks on nuclear facilities are against international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and the rules of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it condemns the drone attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the UAE and added that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the government and the people of the United Arab Emirates.
They further said that targeting a nuclear plant under any circumstances is completely unacceptable. Such irresponsible actions can pose serious risks to human life, the environment, and global peace and security.
