Several states in North India are witnessing intense heatwave conditions, and orange alerts have been issued in many areas. States including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Punjab are currently experiencing severe heat.
If the highest temperature is considered, Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest temperature on Wednesday at 48.0 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, a temperature of 48.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Delhi.
In Uttar Pradesh, the highest temperature was recorded in Banda, where the temperature reached 48 degrees Celsius.
Delhi broke a 14-year record on Wednesday.
The impact of this extreme heat is being felt the most in eastern Madhya Pradesh and the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, the weather department warned on Wednesday that temperatures could rise even further in the coming week, with the impact likely to be felt across northwestern, central, and eastern regions.

In this regard, a scientist from the weather department said that the absence of clouds in the sky over the past 4–5 days has caused temperatures to rise continuously, which could make the heat conditions even more severe in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, these cities recorded the highest temperatures in India on Wednesday.

Even during this intense heatwave, there are still some cities where temperatures remain low, mainly in mountainous regions. States such as Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand still have several cities experiencing cooler weather conditions.
