his year's G7 Summit is particularly significant because it is being held after the final deal between the US and Iran. The meeting brings together some of the world's most powerful leaders to discuss major global issues.
The G7 Summit is being held in Évian-les-Bains, France. This is the 52nd G7 Summit, and it will take place from June 15 to June 17, 2026.
The G7 comprises seven core member countries: France, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Japan.
Each year, several special guest countries are invited to the G7 Summit. This year, India, Ukraine, Brazil, South Korea, and Kenya were invited, along with Middle Eastern nations such as the UAE, Qatar, and Egypt.

One of the most talked-about meetings at the G7 Summit was between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump. The two leaders warmly shook hands and held discussions. Their meeting took place after 16 months, and it can be seen as the first meeting between PM Modi and President Trump since the India-Pakistan conflict.
A bilateral meeting between India and the US has already been planned, during which issues such as trade, visas, and AI could be discussed between the two countries. Earlier, US President Donald Trump had repeatedly said that the United States is very close to reaching a trade deal with India and that an agreement could be finalized soon.

PM Modi also held a formal bilateral meeting with Canada, during which both countries discussed completing CEPA in 2026, as well as cooperation in energy security, innovation, and defense.
During the meeting, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney invited PM Modi to visit Canada, and PM Modi accepted the invitation. Canada will now be waiting to see when PM Modi makes his visit to the country.

At the G7 Summit, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed PM Modi. Earlier, on June 14 in Nice, the two leaders had already held detailed official talks under the 'Special Global Strategic Partnership,' during which both countries agreed on defense co-design and co-production.

PM Modi and Giorgia Meloni met once again, and their interaction is once again going viral on the internet. Last time, when Giorgia Meloni shared a video on her X account featuring PM Modi, it went viral worldwide and was viewed by millions. Similarly, when the two leaders met at the G7 Summit, they had a very warm and informal conversation.
The two leaders have once again become a topic of discussion.

PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the summit, during which both countries discussed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and ways to further strengthen their strategic ties.
Meanwhile, at the G7 Summit, PM Modi also held bilateral talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which the two leaders discussed the recent deal and developments in the Middle East.
Following the US-Iran deal, this was PM Modi's first bilateral discussion with the leader of a Middle Eastern country.
Apart from this, PM Modi also met Swiss President Guy Parmelin during a transit stop in Geneva.
PM Modi also met Kenyan President William Ruto and said, 'India and Kenya share a longstanding partnership anchored in the aspirations of the Global South. We remain committed to working together for the well-being of our people.'
PM Modi also held talks with President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Lee Jae-myung. PM Modi mentioned that Mr. Lee Jae-myung had visited India just a few days earlier.
He also said, "Our nations are working together in trade, commerce, and many other futuristic sectors."
PM Modi also held a sidelines meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during which he said, 'India cherishes its long-standing friendship with Egypt.'
PM Modi also held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, during which he said, 'India and Japan will continue to deepen ties in diverse sectors, with a priority on trade and investment.'
