T oday in Bihar, a cabinet expansion took place in which 32 new ministers were sworn in. Senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Rajnath Singh, were present during the event. The inclusion of Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, has become the most discussed point of the expansion.

In this cabinet expansion, a total of 32 new ministers took the oath. Out of these, 15 are from the BJP, 13 from the JD(U), 2 from the LJP (Ram Vilas), and one each from HAM and RLM.

Ram Kripal Yadav, Kedar Gupta, Nitish Mishra, Mithilesh Tiwari, Rama Nishad, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Dilip Jaiswal, Pramod Chandravanshi, Lakhen Kumar Paswan, Sanjay Tiger, Engineer Kumar Shailendra, Nand Kishore Ram, Ramchandra Prasad, Arun Shankar Prasad, and Shreyasi Singh.

Nishant Kumar, Shravan Kumar, Ashok Choudhary, Leshi Singh, Madan Sahni, Sunil Kumar, Jama Khan, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Sheela Mandal, Damodar Raut, Bulo Mandal, Ratnesh Sada, and Shweta Gupta.

These are some other leaders from various parties who also took the oath as ministers today.

From the LJP (Ram Vilas), Sanjay Paswan and Sanjay Singh were appointed as ministers.

From the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), Santosh Manjhi was appointed as a minister.

From the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), Deepak Prakash was appointed as a minister.

When Nitish Kumar resigned from his post on 15 April, a new government was formed. At that time, it was being said that Nishant Kumar could be given the position of Deputy Chief Minister (UPCM), but that did not happen. However, on Thursday, during the cabinet expansion held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, he took an oath as a minister.

Supporters of Nishant Kumar have said that he wanted to understand Bihar’s development issues before taking any position. In this context, on 3 May, Nishant Kumar also launched the “Sadbhav Yatra” (Harmony Journey).

When Nishant Kumar’s name was announced for the oath at Gandhi Maidan, JD(U) supporters raised slogans in his support.

After taking the oath, former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while speaking to the media, said, “This is all the love and trust of the people; they brought me into politics. My workers brought me into politics.”

He said, “The trust and confidence that the public and party workers have shown in me and the responsibility that has been given to me, I will try to fulfill with honesty and sincerity.”

In this, CM Samrat Choudhary will hold the home department, cabinet secretariat, vigilance, election, and civil aviation departments.

At the same time, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary has been given the Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs departments, while the other deputy chief minister, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, has been allotted the Finance Department.

At the same time, Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar has been given the Health Department.
