The Middle East has once again become the center of global concern. Ongoing airstrikes and military actions over the past few days have brought the region to a point where the possibility of a full-scale war is becoming increasingly real. The conflict between Israel and Iran is no longer limited, which is not a good sign for the Middle East. If this war continues for more days, it could lead to a major crisis in the economy and energy sectors.

Root of the Conflict: From Shadow War to Open Confrontation:

Experts believe that Israel and Iran have been engaged in a covert conflict for decades. Iran has often relied on proxy warfare against Israel, providing strong support to groups like Hamas in Palestine. Similarly, Iran has long supported Hezbollah in Lebanon, supplying both weapons and financial aid to carry out attacks against Israel. It is often argued that Iran does not want Israel to survive as a state, which is why it backs these proxy groups. Another major reason behind the growing tensions between the two countries is Iran’s ambition to acquire nuclear weapons.

Now these developments have escalated into a full-scale war.

1:- Now Israel is attacking Hezbollah along Lebanon’s southern border, and Hezbollah is also launching attacks against Israel.
2:- Israel is carrying out attacks on military bases in Syria.
3:- There has already been a long period of war in the Gaza Strip.

At the same time, it can be said that there is an atmosphere of tension across the entire Middle East, and if this continues, it will not be good for the region or the world.

Energy Crisis and Impact on the Global Economy:

In the Middle East conflict, the most important factor is energy hubs, as the region exports a large share of the world’s energy. Due to the ongoing war, this sector is being impacted the most.

Especially the Strait of Hormuz, which is the route through which around 20% of the world’s oil and gas passes, has become the focal point of this conflict. Iran has taken full control of this route, allowing only ships from countries like Russia, China, India, and a few others to pass, while it remains closed to others. It is also one of the most important routes connecting Europe and Asia.

If the Strait of Hormuz does not reopen in the coming time, oil and gas prices could rise significantly across the world, which would not be good for the global economy, as it is the shortest and most important route connecting Europe and Asia.

The Way Forward: Diplomacy or War?

The question is whether this conflict will be resolved through diplomacy or escalate into a full-scale war.

Given the current war, these could be the possible scenarios.

1:- Limited War: Both countries (Israel and Iran) may keep their attacks restricted and targeted. However, if they ignore the rules of war, it could lead to heavy loss of life, which would not be good for either side.

2:- Full-Scale War: In this scenario, other countries may also become involved, turning it into a wider or even global conflict, which would not be good for the entire world.

3:- Diplomatic Solution: The best course of action would be to resolve this conflict through diplomacy.

Key Points
  • The current situation in the Middle East could become a global challenge, and with each new attack, the fear is growing that this conflict may push the world toward a larger war.
  • What is happening in the Middle East will have an impact across the entire world and could deeply affect global politics, the economy, and the security system.
