n Match No. 29 of the Indian Premier League 2026, a match was played between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh.
In this match, LSG won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Punjab Kings set a huge target of 254 runs for LSG. However, LSG failed to chase the target. For Punjab Kings, Priyansh Arya scored 93 runs, while Cooper Connolly added 87 runs.

On the other hand, this Indian Premier League season has not been going well for Lucknow Super Giants. So far, LSG have played a total of 6 matches this season, winning only 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The team has suffered defeats in the remaining 4 matches against Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings.
Punjab Kings posted a massive total of 254 runs while batting first. Nearly 70% of the runs came from two players. Priyansh Arya scored 93 runs off 37 balls, hitting 4 fours and 9 sixes. The second key contributor was Cooper Connolly, who made 87 runs off 46 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes.
Marcus Stoinis also added 29 runs, while none of the other batters were able to make a significant contribution.
Other batters from Punjab Kings could not contribute much. Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed for 0 runs, while team captain Shreyas Iyer got out after scoring 5 runs.
Nehal Wadhera scored 13 runs, and Shashank Singh added 17 runs. In the end, Marco Jansen remained not out on 1 run.

Most of the batting lineup of Lucknow Super Giants scored decent runs, but they could not keep up with the required run rate and managed only 200 runs in 20 overs.
Mitchell Marsh scored 40 runs, Ayush Badoni added 35 runs, and captain Rishabh Pant made 43 runs. Nicholas Pooran scored 9 runs, while Aiden Markram contributed 42 runs.
In the lower order, Mukul Choudhary remained not out on 21 runs, and Himmat Singh stayed not out on 1 run.
